Come in with enough growth for your barber to see your natural shape. Bring one or two realistic reference photos and think about what matters most to you: fade height, length on top, hairline, beard length, and how the two should connect.
Before your appointment
You do not need to style everything perfectly before you arrive. In fact, it helps when your barber can see your normal growth, texture, and beard shape.
Come with reasonably clean hair and go easy on heavy product. Avoid trimming your hairline or beard right before the visit. If you bring photos, choose ones that show the front and side, then point out the details you actually like.
Choose the appointment that matches the work
Haircut & Beard is CAD $50 for one hour and includes a fade, lineup, and beard trim. Haircut & Style is CAD $40 for 40 minutes. Beard Trim & Shape and Line Up are each CAD $15 for 15 minutes.
Book the full Haircut & Beard service if both shapes need work. A short cleanup is better for small touch-ups, not a full change.
Five decisions to make together
A clipper number is only one part of the conversation. Talk through these five details together:
- Fade or taper: skin-level contrast or retained visible length?
- Transition height: low, through the middle, or higher?
- Top length: what stays, what goes, and how do you style it?
- Hairline: sharply defined or more natural?
- Beard connection: smoothly blended or intentionally distinct?
Beard details people often overlook
Mention the cheek line, neckline, moustache length, weight at the chin, and any thinner areas you want handled carefully. If you deal with irritation, ingrown hairs, or razor bumps, let your barber know before any close trimming or shaving.
Before you leave, ask how to style the cut at home and when to come back if you want to keep the same shape.
